Not at the high end of blog posts but the Texel Tigger is all part of the islands rich heritage and one of the first things you get when type Texel into google.

Flotsam & Jetsam is a documentary based around the beachcombers of Texel, one of the largest Frisian islands just north of mainland Holland. Because of Texel’s geographical position, tidal system and strong north-westerly winds, an estimated 2 tons of flotsam and jetsam is washed up on the beaches a day.

The film will follow the day-to-day lives of the beach combers (or Jutters as they are know on the island), exploring their relationships and history as extraordinary people in extraordinary situations.
